We are Winners!!!!!!

The WAFES 2022 Awards ceremony and gala dinner was held on Saturday night, 10 September at the Crown Perth. The awards ceremony brought together career and volunteer firefighters, DFES personnel, SES and Marine Rescue volunteers from every region of WA to celebrate outstanding achievements in emergency services. Our Group was a finalist in two categories – Marine Rescue Team Achievement Award and Marine Rescue Individual Achievement Award.

We were all so excited and overjoyed when our Group was named as the winner in the Team Achievement Award!!!! A credit to our outstanding volunteer members and recognition of their amazing and dedicated contributions 24/7 during all sorts of weather conditions! We are also so proud of our wonderful and inspiring Commander, Chrissy Heu, for being a finalist in the Individual Achievement Award. While Chrissy didn’t come home with the award this time, she did us all proud!!! Congratulations to the winner Emmie Burton, the youngest female Commander in the history of Marine Rescue Dampier. Congratulations also to all the Finalists and Winners in all award categories.
