Members of the Jurien Bay Community Men’s Shed recently resolved to make a significant donation to our hard-working volunteer Group. Men’s Shed President, Bob Hendry, handed over a cheque for $2000 to our Commander, Chrissy Heu and praised the work of our volunteers, some of whom put their own lives at risk to make the seas safer for local and visiting boaties.
“Members of the Men’s Shed have worked hard and continue to work hard to raise the funds we need to build, operate and maintain our own facilities,” Mr Hendry said. “But we are always mindful of the work done by other volunteer groups, particularly the Jurien Bay Marine Rescue Group. Many of our own members are boaties and fishermen, so stand to benefit from Marine Rescue services. Not to mention several Men’s Shed Members and their wives are also Marine Rescue Group volunteers”, he said.
Mr Hendry thanked Ms Heu and our volunteers for their selfless contribution to the safety of our community and wished the Group continued success.
A HUGE THANK YOU from all our Members to the Jurien Bay Community Men’s Shed for their very generous donation.
