2024 Midwest Gascoyne MARSAR Exercise

The 2024 Midwest Gascoyne MARSAR (Marine Search and Rescue) Exercise, in partnership with the WA Water Police and coordinated by DFES, was held over the weekend commencing on Friday, 1 November.  The exercise was hosted by Marine Rescue Port Denison.

In attendance were Marine Rescue Groups from Kalbarri, Jurien Bay, Carnarvon, Leeman, Shark Bay and Geraldton.  Attendees from our Group were Kym Vukusich, Andrew Stevens, Ashley Sutcliffe and Graham Latter who all missed our Xmas Party!  Thank you all for flying the flag for our Group!!  From all accounts it was a great weekend and the weather Gods were kind!

A big shout out to Jeff Howe and Dan Goodlad of Volunteer Marine Rescue WA for dropping off “Sardam” at our compound to be used by our Group. There were a few issues on arrival, however, Joe from Endeavour Auto Electrics came to our assistance.   On Friday, “Sardam” was transported to Port Denison for the above-mentioned MARSAR exercise.
